Who Sat at the Trump-Xi State Dinner Head Table
The U.S. and Chinese presidential couples were seated with Apple’s Tim Cook, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang and his wife, Elon Musk and AMD’s Lisa Su.
The Rest of the Guest List
OpenAI’s Sam Altman, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Google’s Sundar Pichai, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and TikTok investor Jeff Yass also got invites, along with Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison. Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon and JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon also attended, according to sources. Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser and Dell founder Michael Dell were also reported to be attending. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was also planning to attend, according to a person familiar with the planning.
One name was missing. Anthropic was not on the list.
A Tough Ticket
Trump made clear that seats were limited. He said the guests included “the entire tech world, the entire banking world, and a lot more.”
What the Guest List Says
AI, advanced chips and computing infrastructure are central to the U.S.-China rivalry, and many of the guests run companies tied to those sectors and to the Chinese market.
China’s side of the business delegation was smaller than expected. Reuters had reported that Xi would bring his own group of CEOs, but that entourage did not materialize.
