Prior to becoming a day trader, entrepreneur and financial-content creator, Tyler Riches‘ situation was quite different. While in college, Tyler was looking to make money while learning to trade and living independently.
He was working for DoorDash to cover his rent and to pay down a bank balance of approximately -$2,000. Sometimes, there was not enough money for gas, so he used to ask customers for cash tips to buy gas and continue with his deliveries.
He also had trouble paying for food, and described occasionally keeping the final delivery order as his dinner. Those experiences are the less obvious beginnings of his journey from financial hardship toward becoming a full-time trader, entrepreneur and online educator.
Learning to Build a Different Future
Tyler’s interest in cryptocurrency began at a young age, and he says he went on to earn millions of dollars through it. However, he didn’t learn how to day trade through traditional financial education.
Tyler taught himself by watching educational videos online and building his skills on his own. That would eventually influence another aspect of his career: teaching. Tyler started to make the subject of trading easier to understand for others after he developed his own skills.

Tyler did not have the backing of people close to him right away when he decided to pursue trading full time. He was raised in a strict, religious household where his family expected him to remain in college and eventually work a standard 9-to-5 job.
