Starting a business is a big achievement for many entrepreneurs, but maintaining one is the larger challenge. There are many standard challenges that face every business whether they are large or small. It is not easy running a company, especially in a fast-paced, ever-changing business world. Technology advances, new hiring strategies, and now, political changes coming with the new administration, all add to the existing business challenges that entrepreneurs, business owners, and executives have to deal with.

Maximizing profits, minimizing expenses and finding talented staff to keep things moving seem to be top challenges for both SMBs and large corporations. We have been interviewing companies from around the world to discover what challenges they are facing in their businesses. We also asked each company to share business advice they would give to a younger version of themselves.

Below is our interview with Dominique Morales, Founder at M Clique:

What does your company do?

Our company creates unique and powerful campaign strategies to connect brands with their target demographic. We partner with all types of companies from small mom and pop to large publically traded organizations and work within their budget to help the business thrive! Our goal is to change the industry standards and perceptions of marketing agencies that in the past have little or no return on marketing investments with a personal ongoing partnership. Not only are we results driven, but we also strive to exceed our client's expectations by continuously providing a creative and unique approach. We are located in the cultural melting pot of Miami, Florida but work alongside several companies headquartered in other states and countries like Panama and Dubai.

What is your role? What do you enjoy most about your role?

While many business owners look forward to capitalizing and bolding C.E.O on their business card and LinkedIn account, I see my role so much more than that. I am the Founder of an organization that values not only our clients but our team's talent, passion, and goals. What I enjoy the most is watching the growth and success of our partners and team. All of our team has been hired in at an entry level role and pay rate no matter what their previous experience or roles. Now all those "entry level" employees are Managers or Directors of their departments and following the same teaching and managing tools that insures to remove ego and invoke eagerness to reach the next level. That is my favorite part!

What are the biggest challenges in your business right now?

Our biggest challenge is managing time and processes efficiently. M Clique offers an array of digital and event marketing services to help our clients, many with different industry types. The challenge is finding time management strategies or tools that works best for clients and their personalities. While more digital marketing tools, software, concepts are introduced so are the management and reporting tools. Making it tedious or redundant to complete one task or one report due to the variety of external and internal programs you have work with.

If you could go back in time, what business advice would you give to a younger version of yourself?

To follow my gut! This goes for all aspects of the business from clients, staff, partnerships, etc. In the beginning of starting your business, it's really hard to say "No" to anything. The idea of passing up any opportunities is scary when the only revenue driver is yourself.

Although I wish I would have listened to my gut when I had a funny feeling about something or someone, it taught me lessons about myself, the company and what standards we should have to protect ourselves from being taken advantage of. Now, no matter how much money or opportunity may be available, if it isn't a fit, if it doesn't feel right, it just isn't and that's okay.
