Starting a business is a big achievement for many entrepreneurs, but maintaining one is the larger challenge. There are many standard challenges that face every business whether they are large or small. It is not easy running a company, especially in a fast-paced, ever-changing business world. Technology advances, new hiring strategies, and now, political changes coming with the new administration, all add to the existing business challenges that entrepreneurs, business owners, and executives have to deal with.
Maximizing profits, minimizing expenses and finding talented staff to keep things moving seem to be top challenges for both SMBs and large corporations. We have been interviewing companies from around the world to discover what challenges they are facing in their businesses. We also asked each company to share business advice they would give to a younger version of themselves.
Below is our interview with Veronica Stahl, Founder at Cannabite LifeLong:
What does your company do?
I saw so many of my patients suffer from oral pain and dental disease so I started researching new and innovative ways that could help those patients and then this is how Cannabite LifeLong started. Cannabite LifeLong is one of the first startups to research and develop parts of the Cannabis plant in the dental industry.
Although this new application is still in its early stages, it’s designed to help relieve oral pain and heal dental diseases.
We recently registered the company in the United States but will keep our research and development center in Belgium.
What is your role? What do you enjoy most about your role?
I am the Founder of Belgium and LA-based startup, Cannabite LifeLong.
As the Founder of Cannabite LifeLong (as well as being a full-time dental practitioner), I enjoy researching how medical Cannabis can be used to treat patients who are suffering from dental disease and oral pain. I have been working with patients one-to-one and now, we are getting ready to bring this new technology to the masses. It's really exciting!
What are the biggest challenges in your business right now?
Our biggest challenge at the moment is building brand awareness for the business on a national and international scale. Building brand awareness would be used to help secure investor funding so we can invest more funds in research and development. However, we have a strong team of talented and dedicated professionals, and we will continue to push forward to build the brand awareness needed to secure the funding we need to bring this new product to market.
If you could go back in time, what business advice would you give to a younger version of yourself?
I have a few pieces of advice, actually. I would say:
Look at life with a positive outlook. Most of the time, whatever is happening is not the end of the world.
Success doesn’t happen overnight. Patience and persistence are the keys to long-term success.
Don’t let failure stop you from pursuing your dreams. Learn from your mistakes.
Surround yourself with the right people and team to maximize your chances of success.
Always stand by your convictions.
Learn from those who have been there and been successful.
