Starting a business is a big achievement for many entrepreneurs, but maintaining one is the larger challenge. There are many standard challenges that face every business whether they are large or small. It is not easy running a company, especially in a fast-paced, ever-changing business world. Technology advances, new hiring strategies, and now, political changes coming with the new administration, all add to the existing business challenges that entrepreneurs, business owners, and executives have to deal with.
Maximizing profits, minimizing expenses and finding talented staff to keep things moving seem to be top challenges for both SMBs and large corporations. We have been interviewing companies from around the world to discover what challenges they are facing in their businesses. We also asked each company to share business advice they would give to a younger version of themselves.
Below is our interview with Jenna Carelli, Founder and CEO at J. Carelli Consulting:
What does your company do?
Our company serves wellness professionals in a way that is authentic to themselves and their brand. We provide high-level business strategy and full-service implementation so that wellness professionals can work less, yet earn a lot more. We thrive on giving our clients a business and lifestyle that they are freaking obsessed with!
We pride ourselves in helping wellness professionals understand the HOW behind our strategies, and then actually implementing for them, because they are busy. This is a HUGE point of difference in our business model. Our clients receive everything from the coaching and strategy side to implementation and tech. All of this is taken care of for them as a part of their package. We work with our clients in a way that helps them understand and allows them to grow exponentially. This is a business partnership. We build businesses together - as a strong team.
What is your role? What do you enjoy most about your role?
I’m the CEO and Founder of J. Carelli Consulting, LLC. I enjoy being our clients' north star. I help guide them and help them translate their goals and vision into a business strategy that makes sense and makes them sales. I am here to support our clients while they push through the noise, fluff and the mental blocks to finally uncover the game changing action plan for their online business. No more wondering about the "how" and "what now?" I take our clients from unsure to unstoppable.
What are the biggest challenges in your business right now?
Our biggest challenge at the moment is helping our prospects overcome mindset blocks surrounding business investments. The decision to make a larger investment in a professional and very experienced team has huge value over making smaller investments in business coaches and outsourcing by the task rather than by the project as a whole. The marketing methods that we use are ones that work and are proven. They are the same marketing methods used by people who actually want to see success in the long-term. They are not short-term. They are long-term, relationship-building, sustainable business tactics.
If you could go back in time, what business advice would you give to a younger version of yourself?
To remain in line with my core values and beliefs at all times and create original content whenever possible. I wish I would have put my blinders on from the start. Everyone is "seemingly" successful in the online space and it can be very frustrating and overwhelming to scroll through your Facebook and Instagram feeds every single day and read other entrepreneur's highlight reel. As soon as I began intertwining my own story into my content, my audience almost instantaneously became relatable to me. The moment I started really listening to the pain-points and frustrations of my target audience, and really understanding what it is that keeps them up at night, that is when my content started producing instant gratification for the audience that it touched.
