Starting a business is a big achievement for many entrepreneurs, but maintaining one is the larger challenge. There are many standard challenges that face every business whether they are large or small. It is not easy running a company, especially in a fast-paced, ever-changing business world. Technology advances, new hiring strategies, and now, political changes coming with the new administration, all add to the existing business challenges that entrepreneurs, business owners, and executives have to deal with.

Maximizing profits, minimizing expenses and finding talented staff to keep things moving seem to be top challenges for both SMBs and large corporations. We have been interviewing companies from around the world to discover what challenges they are facing in their businesses. We also asked each company to share business advice they would give to a younger version of themselves.

Below is our interview with Jane Willmott, Founder & CEO at Make Impact International:

What does your company do?

Our company provides coaching and training to entrepreneurs worldwide, helping them make impact while celebrating consistent 10k+ months with ease and in total flow! We do this through a variety of different ways one 2 one work, digital download courses, group programmes, bootcamps and live events. We’re not fans of a cookie cutter approach and prefer to work to ensure our clients get exactly what they need, this ensuring that they have the best chance of getting the results they desire!

What is your role? What do you enjoy most about your role?

I'm the founder and also a coach, therefore I get the best of both worlds. While I get to manage team members and staff I also get to be hands on and coach which I absolutely love doing. I'm grateful and totally privileged to have entrepreneurs come to us and allow us to be part of their journey, it's always so amazing when we get to see their transformations and be part of their celebrations. That's probably the thing I enjoy most about my role is being able to celebrate so much, even with team members and staff I pride myself on building a company where everyone enjoys life freedom and not shackled to the usual rules that come with employment.

What are the biggest challenges in your business right now?

Our biggest challenge at the moment is expanding even more while still being able to retain the person touch that we like to deliver, while I want an empire I also want to ensure that each company within that empire stands for something and stands by our life freedom philosophy. We're not just about profits and while that's a good thing I also think it can be difficult to work around sometimes, it's important to get the balance right.

If you could go back in time, what business advice would you give to a younger version of yourself?

Just do it, seems simple enough and yet I spend so many years not doing things because of my own fear or excuses I was making. Ultimately just do it, I'd have gotten to where I am now and where I desire to be a lot quicker had I not got wrapped up in my head and all the fears that live there. My biggest advice to myself would have been and will continue to be, just do it, despite fear, despite doubts, just go and do it!
